jacket dressing
by shelly
so i am harping every now and then on how i absolutely adore the simple, chic style of dressing. not a lot of pattern, not a lot going on, just clean cut- classic- chic-ness. a lot of times i feel like i have a hard time pulling this look off, like i end up looking a little bit like a crazy throwing random things together…
this week i saw a post on dress, design, decor (which is one of my favorite reads) about the stylings of emanuelle alt of french vogue, and i think i may have been inspired and figured out a trick:

a great jacket. duh.
i usually choose cardigans or sweaters over blazers and jackets because they’re so much easier to move around in… but i’ve decided to make a stern effort to wear more jackets. it seems like you could put almost anything underneath and still look terribly more chic than you would otherwise.
here are some examples from my love j.crew:

in my attempt to become more put together and ‘french’ like in my attire- let’s see how it goes! i’ll try to take some photos this weekend… i miss posting my own images here.
have a great weekend loves!
