freedom friday-made in the usa. delayed as usual…

by shelly

this friday (ok it’s sunday, i’m late again), i would like to share another one of my favorite companies with you…

essie!

i am yet to find an essie nail polish that isn’t made in the us of a. the company was founded by essie weingarten in 1981, starting with only 12 shades that she carted around las vegas. now they focus on bringing fun, fashion forward, whimsically named colors to fabulous women all over the world…. and the colors are still created and named by weingarten herself.

here are some favorites in my personal collection:

such fun colors. also, i’ve heard that essie’s made for natural nails, so it’s supposed to last longer than most polishes, which are made for artificial nails. i know mine stays on longer! a bit of clear coat on the tips (to guard against typing) and it can last all week.

i think for spring i’d like to try one of their new colors:

lilac? seems springy and interesting. might look kinda like wet cement on… i think it could look really fresh and clean. i’ll let you know if i try it!
